In this election, the American people will choose the men and women who will lead our nation at a time when we confront many challenges, both at home and abroad. And you and I both know how important it is that the national leaders share our beliefs and are willing to fight for our rights and our causes.
With the right leadership in the White House and the right leadership in Congress, we can not only meet the challenges, but we can prosper as a nation.
Yes we can, create a health care system that ensures every American man, woman, and child has access to quality, affordable medical care.
Yes we can, reform our nation’s trade policies to make sure we are exporting our high quality manufactured goods, and not our high-paying manufacturing jobs.
Yes we can, support our schools to provide every American student with the education needed in today’s workplaces.
Yes we can, protect our environment and reduce global warming while creating new jobs in new environmental industries here in America.
And yes we can, use our best efforts to promote peace around the world while supporting the best trained and best equipped troops.
Throughout this campaign, I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet and speak with thousands of residents of the 5th Congressional District. You may be assured that I will continue to take your concerns to the halls of Congress in our efforts to make this country a better, safer place in which to live and work.
